Immersion Neurotechnologies is our software and hardware development division. We specialize in developing next-generation brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that seamlessly merge with consumer virtual and mixed reality devices. Our primary interests include developing optimal therapies for brain-related symptoms and discovering methods to control “virtual worlds”​ exclusively with real-time brain activity.


We are developing an affordable clinical-grade dry brain-computer interface designed for consumer XR devices.

Electroencephalograms (EEGs) are commonly used as a non-invasive clinical diagnostic tool to measure electrical brain activity from the surface of an individual’s scalp. EEGs generally consists of sensors (typically Ag/AgCl) connected via copper wire to a signal amplifier device. During a procedure, specific regions of the scalp are cleaned using a skin prep gel (i.e. NuPrep) followed by Isopropyl alcohol. Conductive paste is applied to each sensor and then each sensor is placed on specific regions of the scalp (typically in reference to the International 10-20 System).


Project Synapse aims to improve several aspects of current EEG designs.

  • Wireless connection via Bluetooth or Wifi with a low latency, high resolution signal.
  • Dry (replaceable) electrode system to improve placement consistency and ease of use.
  • Form-fitted to consumer XR devices.
  • Affordable cost for general consumers and healthcare professionals.
